INVITER:Prof. Yaping ZHAO (赵亚平教授)

Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by oxidation of graphite using strog acidic medium. The structure of the GO was determined by XRD and FTIR methods. Specific surface area was determined by BET and liquid sorption experiments and the total surface  was calculated. The intercalation of cationic surfactants was examined and the surface hydrophobization was characterized by adsorption excess isotherms. The layer silicates show similar properties to the GO intercalation complexes and also the surface hydrophobicity can be determined by liquid sorption excess isotherms Noble metal nanoparticles were synthetized in the interlamellar space of the GO samples due to reduction process. The diameters of nanoparticles can be determined by XRD and SAXS experiments and their catalytical application in liquid phase will be discussed.

If we used diluted suspension from the GO we can produce self assembled GO- semi conductor systems ( CdS, TiO2) preparing ultrathin nanohybrid films. Photocatalytical properties of GO/TiO2 nanocomposite films will be discussed as well.
