A brief biography :Stephen completed an MChem degree at the University of Sheffield in 2000. During his PhD at Sheffield, and later at Imperial College London, working with Prof. Alan Spivey, he focused on organic synthesis and catalysis, working on the development and applications of chiral nucleophilic organocatalysis. In 2004, he moved to Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands, to work with Prof. Ben Feringa on the synthesis and applications of light-driven molecular motors. In 2006, he joined the Royal Society of Chemistry as assistant editor of Lab on a Chip and the Journal of Environmental Monitoring. In April 2008 Stephen joined the founding editorial team of Nature Chemistry, where he handles manuscripts covering synthesis and catalysis, he is currently based Nature’s Boston office.
