On Nov 22nd, 2019, according to the list published on the website of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Prof. Chunhai Fan from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was elected to be academician of CAS.
    


Prof. Chunhai Fan was born in Jiangsu Province, China, in 1974. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from Nanjing University in 1996 and 2000 respectively, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) from 2001 to 2003.

Prof. Fan has received many awards for his excellent work, including NSFC Award for Outstanding Young Scientists (National Science Foundation of China, 2007), National Award for Young Scientists of China (2011), CAS Award for Young Scientists (2012), National Natural Science Prize (2016), He-Liang-He-Li Fund Awards for Science and Technology Innovations (2019), ACS Advances in Measurement Science Lectureship Award (American Chemical Society, 2019) and the 12th TAN Jiazhen Awards for Life Sciences.

Prof. Fan is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) and Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He is also an Associate Editor of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, a Guest Editor of Advanced Materials, and serves on the editorial board of more than ten international journals (ChemBioChem, ChemPlusChem, ACS Sensors, Advanced Healthcare Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Electroanalysis, Particles etc.). He has published over 400 SCI papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature, Science and its series, and was recognized as High Cited Researchers by Thomson Reuters (H-index 95) for six consecutive years.
