Overview
The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, based on the main strategy of "strengthening the College with talents", adheres to the Party's management of talents, the combination of education and introduction, and the classified development in the construction ofteaching staff. Relying on the discipline platform and academic reputation advantages, it gradually gathers and forms a high-level teach-ing staff of "old, middle-aged and young", which lays a solid foundation for the construction of "double first-class" disciplines of the college

Following the main strategy of “strengthening the school through faculty development”, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has upheld the CPC’s leadership over talents, worked simultaneously to attract foreign talents and cultivate local talents, and implemented the classified development in the construction of its faculty. Leveraging its strengths in academic platforms and academic reputation, the school has gradually built a high-level and age-diverse faculty which lays a solid foundation for the “Double First-Class” disciplines.


Currently, the school boasts a faculty of 170 teachers and researchers (including faculty with joint appointments). There are 71 full professors (including 10 chair professors, 15 distinguished professors and 14 tenured professors) and 70 associate professors. Meanwhile, there are 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 9 distinguished professors of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education (including 1 professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program in Western China), 21 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 42 winners of the Top-Notch Young Talents, the Changjiang Young Scholars Program, the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars and the National Thousand Talents Program and 10 chief scientists and 1 young scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China, also known as the 973 Program).
