State Key Laboratory of Fluorine-Containing Functional Membrane Materials

The State Key Laboratory of Fluorine-Containing Functional Membrane Materials, jointly established by the Dongyue Group and SJTU, was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2015. It is the only laboratory at the national level in the field of fluorine-containing functional materials in China, reflecting Dongyue Group’s leading role in this field. The laboratory serves as a platform for Dongyue Group’s technological and industrial innovation and a cutting-edge technology incubator for fluorine-containing functional membrane materials and leads the industry’s technological advancement.

The laboratory carries out leading-edge strategic research in synthesizing fluorine-containing small molecule compounds, designing and polymerizing fluorine-containing polymers, preparing fluorine-containing membrane materials, and evaluating and applying fluorine-containing membrane materials. It also uses and studies generic technology research in related theory, technology research, and engineering equipment development.

By combining the advantages of enterprise and SJTU, the laboratory promotes the transformation of fundamental research achievements and industrialization of scientific achievements, solves critical technical problems in fluorine-containing functional membrane materials, and improves the industry’s independent innovation ability and the core competitiveness of specialty polymeric materials. In addition, the laboratory meets the urgent needs of major national strategic tasks for technological progress. It aims to break the bottlenecks of generic technology in significant industrial structure adjustment and critical industry development and promote the leapfrogging and sustainable development of China’s fluorine industry.
