The Institute of Fine Chemicals was established in October 1994. Over the years, its research work has included various projects such as the “Heavy Oil Additive Research” funded by the Ministry of Transport as a key project during the Seventh Five-Year Plan, research on corrosion inhibitors and scale detergent for Daqing oil field in the field of oilfield chemicals, and projects related to friction chemistry funded by the National Natural Science Foundation. The institute has also conducted researches on the extraction and application of natural pigments and chitin in the field of natural chemicals.
