    Dr. Keith Hutchenson has been with DuPont for 27 years and is currently a Senior Research Fellow in DuPont Central Research & Development.  Keith’s technical interest and expertise includes chemical process development, particularly application of chemical reaction engineering, catalysis, phase equilibrium thermodynamics, and supercritical fluid technology for chemical process applications. 
    Keith obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University in South Carolina (USA) and then worked for 5 years with DuPont in various process engineering positions at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Plant Tritium Facility (S.C.).  He then returned to graduate school for a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Clemson University where he developed a supercritical fluid extraction process for fractionating petroleum pitch to produce a superior precursor for pitch-based carbon fibers and carbon-carbon composites.  This process was further developed and commercialized by Conoco, which at that time was a subsidiary of DuPont. 
    Keith rejoined DuPont in 1990 at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware (USA) where he has been involved with various process development efforts for a number of DuPont\'s business units and processes over his career.
    He has published over 20 external publications including 4 book chapters and 2 edited books.  He has also published numerous internal DuPont technical reports and is a co-inventor on 21 granted US patents (and their foreign equivalents).  Keith is a licensed Professional Engineer and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the American Chemical Society, the North American Catalysis Society, and the International Society for the Advancement of Supercritical Fluids.  Keith has been active in the AIChE at both the local section and national levels in programming and various leadership positions.  He recently served as the Chair of the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering (CRE) division of the AIChE, and is currently a CRE Division Director and the representative to the AIChE Center for Energy Initiatives.  He was a co-organizer for the 10th International Symposium on Supercritical Fluids held in San Francisco in May 2012.
